Most times that Te Aurere sails in the Inner Harbour we may see a bungy jumper or some interesting vessels. Monday 28th February 2011 was a little different as we were entertained by a pod of Orca making their way up the Waitemata. They were first spotted by Peter Nielsen, the editor of Sail Magazine based in Boston, USA, as we made our way down the harbour past the naval base. We turned, followed the Orca and were rewarded when the whole pod surfaced just in front of us. After we parted company they made their way over to Ngataringa Bay, presumably for a spot of fishing for Sting Rays!
