What to bring - clothing, footwear etc
Any footwear, including bare feet, is fine on the waka but lower heels or flats are better if wearing shoes. Bring clothing suited to the conditions as the deck is open - although we do have plastic ponchos for sudden showers, and sunscreen on board.
Auahi kore-smoke free
No smoking on the waka!
Accessibility
Te Aurere is a genuine ocean-going canoe and was designed for able-bodied sailors. At present the waka is not accessible by wheelchair from the pontoon. A design solution is being sought.
